Duke
Anderson's Saddling Up Anyway CCA
Duke is our gorgeous field line golden that we are so proud of! True to his lines, Duke has a high retrieve drive and lots of energy that makes him a joy to train and work with! His puppies take on this intelligence and drive, making them great hunting prospects.Duke has a rich red coat and produces darker puppies ranging from traditional gold to dark red. Duke weighs about 70 pounds and has received his Certificate of Conformation Assessment from the Golden Retriever Club of America. Duke is also fully health tested, receiving an "excellent" rating on his hips from the Orthopedic Foundation of Animals.
Nelson
Int.Ch. Ain't Kidens I Willie Love You at Sassafras DS CGC TKN FDC
Nelson is our show line AKC male and is a traditional gold color with a luxurious coat and blocky head. Nelson is easy to train and as such has earned a variety of titles in obedience as well as dock diving. Nelson has also earned his International Championship! At 80 pounds, this big boy loves everyone he meets and will soon begin his work as a therapy dog bringing others as much joy as he brings us! Nelson's pedigree includes many show and sport champions and we expect his puppies to continue this legacy. Nelson is fully health tested with OFA Excellent hips.
Shakira
Int.CH Ain'T Kidens Sb 2020 Half Time Show
Shakira is our standard gold AKC female that we are very proud of! Shakira has earned her International Championship in conformation and is now working on sport & obedience titles. She is a natural athlete and loves dock diving. Shakira's success is no surprise as she comes from a long line of champions! The best thing about Shakira, however, is her sweet nature and calm demeanor. She is an absolute joy to live with and definitely a favorite among our crew!
Sunday
Ain't Kidens SB Sunday 2020 at Sassafras
Sunday is our resident house hippo. This sassy girl is always "talking" to us and having the time of her life. She gets excited about everything and is the happiest dog. Sunday’s pedigree also includes many champions and athletes! Her show lines resulted in a heavier (fluffier) coat and a large, blocky bone structure. Sunday passes on her great temperament to her puppies with reports that they are the perfect mix of energy and calm.
"Shug"
Sassafras Gimme Some Shugar
Shug comes from our most popular breeding between Angel and Nelson. Born and raised here just like her mom, Shug has our heart dogs on both sides of her pedigree as well as many champions in conformation and dog sports. We know this line very well and continue to be impressed! Both of her parents and grandparents have “Excellent” rated hips which only 5% of golden retrievers achieve. Shug is close to a cream color but has rich golden undertones that really shine in the sun. Her coat is extremely manageable without sacrificing the fluff. Shug loves to fetch and a ball of any kind is her favorite!
"Cider"
Sassafras Sugar, Spice, & Everything Nice
Cider is our darkest girl. She is the sweetest dog we have and is very calm and laid back. Cider has a moderate retrieve drive, loves water, and is eager to please! Regardless of the distractions around her, Cider can always be found sitting at our feet looking up at us with love, patiently waiting to hear what we want her to do next.

Sassafras On The Road Again
Roadie is our large red male weighing about 75 pounds and on the taller side. He is so sweet, easy to train, and has the quintessential goofy golden personality! Roadie has a lower retrieve drive and is happiest socializing and relaxing. His puppies range from traditional golden to dark red depending on who he is paired with.
"Dolly"
Sassafras Good Golly Miss Dolly
Dolly is an Angel x Nelson puppy from their first litter that is raised in a guardian home. Dolly is very sweet, obedient, and calm. She also has a goofy side that brings everyone around her lots of laughs! Dolly weighs about 70 pounds with a light coat with rich golden undertones. Dolly loves water and has an average fetch drive.
Valentine
Sassafras Be My Valentine
Valentine is a Penny x Duke puppy bred by us. Valentine is a very calm and reserved girl. Her dark red coat is absolutely stunning! She took after dad in her field look and build, but has mom's sweet demeanor and calm nature. The best of both worlds!
Bumble
Sassafras Bumble Bee
Bumble is the definition of a “traditional” golden! She has a gorgeous sandy golden coat and the hallmark personality of a golden - smart, patient, and so sweet! She has the energy level that we strive for in all our dogs where she will be active and play when we are outside but she will also be calm and lay around with us all day.
Jovi
Sassafras Livin on a Prayer
Jovi is our fluffy red head! She is one of our laziest and funniest girls I've ever had. She is an absolute couch potato and lives for food. She wiggles all over when she gets excited and is the best snuggle buddy. She is shorter but very stocky with a gorgeous dark red coat. Jovi has the blocky head that many are looking for and we are excited to see her pass these wonderful traits to her puppies.
